JAMMU, Oct 8: Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) has expressed resentment against the alleged regional discrimination by the ruling dispensation victimizing the people of Jammu region.
In a handout SSP president, Colonel S.S Pathania (retired) said, a new ray of hope was perceived by the people of Jammu post abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A and the people have started believing that discrimination and exploitation of the past 72 years will come to an end and they will get justice.
“Appeasement policy of Kashmir centric politics is constantly on rise while it was expected to go down and this has shattered all the hopes of Jammu people who now stand disillusioned,” he said.
The SSP president said, all political parties, social organizations and NGOs have repeatedly requested the Government to carry out delimitation process on the basis of fresh census as the census of 2011 are allegedly manipulative and fudged.
He further said, Rs. 10 crore allocation to Kashmir division and 5 crore to Jammu for COVID management is beyond anybody’s comprehension.
Col Pathania questioned the logic for appointing 122 teachers for Kashmiri language and just 5 for Dogri and termed this ‘utter contempt of principle of equality and justice’.
He also said that Jammu division already has four toll plazas and two more are in offing at Akhnoor and Ring Road while there is only one in Kashmir region.
SSP leader further said that selection of personnel in Fire and Emergency Services with 90 per cent candidates from Kashmir and just 10 per cent from Jammu division has further exposed the regional discrimination.
Pathania urged upon the Central Government and LG administration to take cognizance of the ongoing discrimination with people of Jammu region and dispense justice.
