Sajjad asks youth to foil PDP, BJP’s divisive politics

BANIHAL, Aug 17: Exhorting youth to play their crucial role in foiling the divisive policies of PDP and BJP, District National Conference (NC) president, Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen today said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir was passing through a most difficult phase.
Addressing youngsters at Chaknarwah, Sajjad Shaheen said that the coalition partners were engaged in playing to their respective constituencies, as a result of which the development has taken nose dive and the suffering of the people were accumulating with each passing day.
He said the PDP has bartered public interest for loaves of power, which can prove detrimental to the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in the long run. In such a situation the youth have to unite for safeguarding the legitimate interests of the State.
He said history stands testimony to the fact that the youth have led the State in most crucial times under the banner of NC and steered it to peace, progress and development.  “We have to work for promoting communal harmony in all the circumstances and maintaining regional unity”, he added.
Youth leader Parvez Ahmed Sohil also addressed the gathering.
Later, the District NC president participated in the concluding function of a Volleyball tournament and presented trophies to the winner and runner up teams. He complimented youngsters for their performance and said sports were imperative for mental and physical growth of the young people.
