SRINAGAR, Sept 24: Sakina Itoo, Minister for Social Welfare, met Mr N N Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor and Ms Itoo discussed the implementation status of various important schemes which have the objective of promoting the welfare of the economically weaker and socially neglected segments of the population. The Governor urged Ms Itoo to direct her officers to devote extra special attention to the effective implementation of the various schemes and programmes for enabling the welfare of the differently abled persons and particularly to the measures which would enable such persons to secure employment. The timely utilization of resources and effective implementation of the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes were also discussed during the meeting.
The Social Welfare Minister briefed the Governor about the various other measures which are planned for securing the larger welfare of the all those falling within the less-privileged sections of the society in the State.
