Saksham observes Foundation Day at Lakhanpur

KATHUA, June 20: Saksham a social organisation working for physically challenged persons organized a programme on its Foundation Day at Lakhanpur near here, today to highlights the burning issues of physically challenged people.
On the occasion, District Social Welfare Officer, Arun Choudhary was chief guest, DDC Vice Chairman, Raghunandan Singh Bablu was guest of honor. Numbers of physically challenged persons including women participated in the programme in large numbers. On the occasion various issues of physically challenged persons were raised for their survival and better future.
The president of Saksham, O D Attri demanded the enhancement of pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 , medical aid, teaching school for deaf and dumb persons at district level and reservation in job in private sector also for physically challenged persons.
The District Social Welfare Officer, Kathua Arun Choudhary said that there are nearly seven thousands physically challenged persons in Kathua district and more than fifty percent were given the pension. They were also given tricycle, and other equipment free of cost. The Government is working for upliftment and welfare of physically challenged persons to make them Saksham. Such organizations are part and parcel of Government and both Government and they work together.
Among other MC ex president, Ravinder Sharma, Swami Ji, Sardari Lal, Kaka Ram, etc were present.
