Salary hike, rationalization order ambiguous: JKNHMEA

Srinagar, Aug 14: The J&K NHM Employees Association (JKNHMEA) has said that there is ambiguity in the order issued by the Government with regard to the salary enhancement and rationalization orders.
The Association held an emergency meeting in this regard and after thorough deliberations, it was unanimously expressed that there is ambiguity and infirmity in the order issued which lacks clarity.
“Apart from that it was felt that no procedure or norm has been followed in the rationalization exercise which smacks of arbitrariness and the majority of categories of staff among paramedics and managerial staff at district and block level who face disparity have been ignored,” the JKNHMEA said.
It said that even within schemes the wages of one category facing disparity have been rationalized while many others left out.
“The Association had repeatedly requested authorities to ensure fair consideration to grievances of all those facing discrimination in wages. However, despite cautioning they have been able to spoil this cherished moment by not giving due consideration and fair treatment to all,” it said.
The Association in this regard has decided to approach the higher authorities immediately to rectify the wrongs. “If no heed is given to the pleas of employees, the Association shall consider other options available,” the Association’s Chief Spokesperson, Abdul Rauoof said in a statement.
