LEH, May 7: Commissioner Secretary School Education, AK Sahu chaired the 4th Executive Committee meeting of ‘Yountan Society’ for implementing SAMAGRA Shiksha in UT of Ladakh here today.
Commissioner Secretary, Sahu stressed upon sanitization and screening for the schools’ equipment in view of COVID pandemic mitigation measures in the plan. He asked the DC Leh and Kargil to follow the guidelines already issued for running of community classes and adopt innovative measures such as visiting teachers, student volunteers for making good of academic losses of the student during the covid pandemic.
He stressed to designate village level teacher coordinator in each habitation to be responsible for the academic progress of the students in the village and coordinate with their respective school teachers/masters.
Director School Education highlighted the pending issues with J&K and Commissioner Secretary. Sahu requested State Project Director J&K to transfer the due share of UT Ladakh (2018-19, 2019-20) and complete the ongoing civil works in the current working season without further delay. It was also informed that out of the previous release under SAMAGRA Shiksha an amount of Rs 3063.78 lakhs has been released to CEOs/ Principal DIETs for proper implementation of the Scheme.
Sahu instructed the Director, School Education to constitute committees to check and verify the actual utilization of funds by the schools/ institutions. He further asked Deputy Commissioner Leh / Kargil to conduct extensive exercise by involving the community to get the actual status of out of School children by involving members of PRIs, VEC and public representatives and ensure their enrolment to the nearest schools.
Commissioner/ Secy also advised both the DCs for rationalization of schools/ teachers in consultation with respective LAHDCs.
The meeting was informed that this year focus of the plan is on the creation of e-content and online classes. Commissioner Secretary, Sahu suggested incorporating preloaded e-content tablets for teachers also so that the students are benefitted from the tablets being provided under Special Development Package.
Earlier, Mohd Mumtaz Ali, Director SED gave a detailed presentation of the proposal of the Annual Work Plan and Budget of SAMAGRA Shiksha, UT of Ladakh for the year 2021-22.
VK Verma, Deputy Secy/ Director SAMAGRA Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of School Education Govt. of India; Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Deputy Commissioner Leh; Santosh Sukhadeve, Deputy Commissioner Kargil; Deputy Secretary School Education Department; Chief Education Officer Kargil; Chief Education Officer Leh; representative of SPD J&K, JK BOSE, University of Ladakh, Finance and Planning Departments also attended the meeting.
