JAMMU, Apr 1: After fielding candidates from three out of six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir, the Samajwadi Party has decided to start formal election campaigning from April 5.
The party has fielded candidates on Doda-Udhampur, Jammu-Poonch and Anantnag seats while central Samajwadi Party leaders are expected to visit the State in 2nd week of April for campaigning.
This was informed by Samajwadi Party State president Sheikh Abdul Rehman, here today, after meeting the party national president Mulayam Singh Yadav at Lucknow.
In a statement, Mr Rehman said that at national level, people are fed up with the corruption and misgovernance of Congress, communalism and fascism of BJP while at State level corruption of Congress and NC -PDP has made the life of people a hell.
“The NDA and UPA are befooling the masses at the behest of corporate houses, media and both the parties are facing charges for obtaining funds from abroad,” he said adding that under these circumstances, it was apparent that neither NDA nor UPA would be in a position to form Government and thus there was every likelihood of a Federal United Front coming in power at the Centre.
Mr Rehman expressed fear that both NDA and UPA out of desperation and frustration may ignite communal tension to polarize the voters. He cautioned the masses to remain vigilant against the nefarious designs of these parties.
“The Samajwadi Party in the State with its secular and socialistic approach is the only option for the people of the State against the corruption and misgovernance of the NC-Congress Government,” he said and appealed the masses to vote for Samajwadi party candidates.
