Samba College organises debate on ‘Digital India’

JAMMU, Nov 18: The Department of English, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Govt. Degree College Samba organized a symposium on the topic “Digital India: Importance & Impact” in the smart room for its students under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ravinder Tickoo, Principal of the Institution. A number of enthused students spoke on the topic and shared their views on the significance of Digital India initiative of Government of India.
The programme was co-ordinated by Prof. Rashu Sharma & Dr. Nomita Sharma. Prof. Shaveta Gupta, HoD English formally welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion. Prof. (Dr.) Ravindra Tickoo, Head of the Institution enlightened the students on various facts of digitalization and its constructive impact. In order to motivate the students, a monetary prize of Rs. 1000, 700 & 500 was announced for the first, second & third winner respectively.
The jury comprised of Prof. Shobha Gupta, HoD Mathematics, Dr. Joginder Singh, HoD Dogri & Dr. Sushma Sharma, HoD Zoology. First position was bagged by Suhani, second by Gori and third by Jasmine, all students of Sem-I.
The event was embellished by the benign presence of Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Vice-Principal, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Head Department of Commerce, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Head Department of Punjabi, Dr. Ram Singh, Head Department of Education, Dr. Shivali Rattan, Head Department of Economics, & Dr. Virender Singh from the Department of Mathematics. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Rashu Sharma on behalf of Department of English.
