Samba, Nowshera police rescues 20 bovine animals

SAMBA, May 13: Police today rescued 19 bovine animals during two separate nakas at Ghagwal in Samba district and Nowshera in Rajouri district. These bovine animals were being carried to Kashmir Valley.
As per reports 12 bovine animals were rescued by Ghagwal Police party headed by inspector Suraj Pathania SHO Ghagwal which intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AR/ 2845 which was on its way from Kathua to Kashmir.
The driver of the vehicle, Javed Son of Mohammed Shafi of Rehian tehsil Bakori district Rajouri was arrested. The Police rescued the bovine animals and seized the truck also. A case FIR No 49/2016 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
In another case seven bovine animals were rescued by Nowshera Police during a special naka at Thalka from a truck bearing number JK 11 A 11370 which was on its way to Kashmir.
The naka was laid under the supervision Additional S P Nowshera, Atul Sharma by SHO Nowshera Inspector Bashir Ahmed on a specific information about smuggling of bovine animals who were stolen from the area and were being carried to Kashmir Valley.
However, the driver of the vehicle managed to escape in darkness. A case FIR No 59/16 U/S 379,188 RPC & 3PCA Act was registered in this connection in PS Nowshera.
