Samba people scared of stray dogs menace

SAMBA, Oct 13: The stray dogs menace continued in Samba town but the concerned authorities are in deep slumber.
The people of Samba showing their concern said that day-by-day the population of the stray dogs is growing in samba town posing a major threat to them. In many areas of the Samba town including Main Bazaar Samba, Link road, Bantlab and New Bus Stand people are scared to move freely due to the stray dogs menace especially in morning and evening times.
Sandeep Kumar a local of Samba said that the stray dogs number is growing day-by day but the concerning authorities are not taking any action to relieve the people of their threat. The dogs in herds are moving in these areas with the result women and old aged persons face many difficulties to move from these areas.
He appealed to the officer concerning authorities to pay attention to it.
Mohit Kumar and Vijay Kumar both resident of Ward No 2 Samba said the stray dogs are posing grave threat to the people especially the schoolchildren. Several times the stray dogs run behind the motorcycles. They are also a major cause of road accidents.
Stray dogs have spread terror in our locality. Our children fear to move out even during day. The dust bins placed on roadsides by MCs have turned out to be a breeding ground for dogs. If someone carries a bag of vegetables or any grocery, the dogs start to attack them said Ashima Sharma, a resident of Main Bazar Samba.
