Samba police arrests 2 bootleggers

SAMBA, Oct 6: Acting against the drug menace and its propagators Samba Police arrested one drug peddler under the jurisdiction of PS Ghagwal and recovered 5.5 Gms Heroin (Chitta) and 7gms of Charas from his possession.
On the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba a police party of PS Ghagwal headed by S I, Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal and under the direct supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy SP Headquarters Samba, during surprise Naka checking at Sandhi Morh, Ghagwal intercepted one person on suspicious ground.
During frisking, 5.5 grams of heroin (Chitta)and seven gms of Charas were recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Sourav Sharma son of Ram Krishan, of Sandhi, Ghagwal. He was arrested and contraband item was also seized. In this regard a case FIR No. 133/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS ACT has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and further investigation is started.
Meanwhile a Police party of P/S Samba headed by Inspector, Chanchal Singh, SHO Samba and under the direct supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during surprise Naka at border road Samba, intercepted one person on suspicious grounds.
During frisking, seven bottles of 750 ml each and 14bottles of 180ml each of illicit liquor (JK Desi Whisky) were recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Raghubir Singh, son of Punnu Singh of Talgarh Rehian, Samba was arrested on the spot and the contraband item was also seized. In this regard a case FIR No. 263/2018 U/S 48 (F) Excise Act has been registered at P/S Samba and investigation started.
It may be recalled that District Police Samba has intensified its drive against illicit liquor on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba.
