Samba police arrests 2 bootleggers

SAMBA, Apr 16 : A special drive against illegal sale of illicit liquor has been launched by Samba Police on the directions of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh.
Police said raids are being conducted at several suspected places across the district and two bootleggers have been arrested with 99 bottles of JK Special Whisky in their possession. Raids are still underway, police added.
Two arrested bootleggers have been identified as Des Raj son of Jabrro Ram of Rakh Amb Talli, Samba and Vijay Kumar, son of Thoru Ram of village Bhok, Barnyard tehsil, Bari Patan, district Rajouri. A case FIR under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered at Police Station (PS) Samba and further investigation is going on.
The arrests have been made by a police team comprising of ASI, Manzoor Ahmed, PSI, Sohail Munir and SHO Samba, Rajeshwar Singh under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh said that illegal sale of liquor is leading to several kinds of crimes including domestic violence and therefore unauthorized persons cannot be allowed in the interest of general public to manufacture and sell illicit liquor .Hence special drive has to be launched in the entire district simultaneously.
