Samba police arrests 2 bovine smugglers, rescues 6 animals

SAMBA, June 17: District police Samba under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr.Abhishek Mahajan, foiled two consecutive attempts to smuggle bovines, rescued six bovines and arrested two bovine smugglers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty near Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal, intercepted a load carrier auto bearing registration No. JK02CS/7066 for checking.
During checking the vehicle, four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner.
The driver of the vehicle namely Jagjeet Singh, S/o Amrik Singh of Bhambo Chak tehsil, Ramgarh district Samba has been arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 91/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station, Ghagwal.
In an another similar incident, a police party of PS Ghagwal rescued two bovines at Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal which were being transported illegally in a load carrier auto bearing Registration Number JK02CR/2842 with the arrest of accused driver namely, Rohit Kumar, son of Ramesh Chander of Arnia, tehsil Bishnah district Jammu.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 92/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines mentioned in above incidents were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicles used for transporting the bovines were also seized.
