Samba police arrests 2 drug peddlers, recovers 29.78 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Jan 3: Tightening noose against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba police has arrested two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 29.78 grams approximately heroin (chitta) like substance from their possession.
A police party headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of ASP SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Varender Manhas during vehicle checking naka established near Haldiram Factory, intercepted a Swift Dzire Car bearing Registration No. JK04J-8832 moving towards Bari Brahmana side for its checking. During checking, 29.38 grams approximately heroin like substance were recovered from the possession of two persons sitting in the vehicle.
Both the drug peddlers identified as Javid Ahmed Lone, son of Bashir Ahmed Lone and Shakir Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Ahmed Dar both of Humhama tehsil and district Budgam have been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 01/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
SSP Samba warned strict action against the people indulging in drug trafficking, bovine smuggling and other criminal activities urged upon the citizens to cooperate with the police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society.
