SAMBA, Dec 17: Samba police has arrested two heroin smugglers, recovered ‘Chitta’ worth Rs twenty eight thousand from their possession and seized vehicle used for heroin smuggling in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
The arrested persons have been identified as Nirmal Singh, son of Daljeet Singh of Mandool Kastigarh Doda and Davinder Singh, son of Lal Singh of Barrian tehsil and district Samba.
A case FIR No.182/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation is underway.
Police said on the intervening night of 16th and 17th December 2023, a police party of Police Station Vijaypur nabbed the duo with heroin, a case was registered and investigation was started.
It may be recalled that Samba police under the SSP, Benam Tosh has started a sustained drive against the drug peddlers and smugglers and in last eleven months police has arrested 80 narco smugglers and suppliers.
