Samba police arrests 2 more drug peddlers

SAMBA, Jan 4: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers/peddlers, Samba police has arrested two more drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 15.30 grams heroin (chitta) from their possession today.
Police said its team headed by SHO, PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of ASP SDPO, Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Varender Manhas during vehicle checking naka established near Vijay Steel Factory, intercepted a Ciaz Car bearing Registration No. JK02BW-6500 moving towards Bari Brahmana for its checking. During the checking, 15.30 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of two persons sitting in the vehicle.
Both the drug peddlers identified as Zahid Hussain, son of Zakir Hussain of Leh (Ladakh) at present Sarwal Jammu and Karunesh Sharma, son of Mohinder Sharma of Sarwal Jammu have been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 02/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
SSP Samba said police of the district remains steadfast in its commitment to combating drug trafficking and related criminal activities. He urged the people to come forward with any information that could aid in eradicating this social evil.
