Samba police arrests 2, solves theft case

SAMBA, June 12: Police has solved a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested two thieves/receiver of stolen property and recovered stolen items.
A written complaint was lodged at Police Post (PP) Supwal under jurisdiction of PS Samba by one Omkar Nath Sharma, son of Rattan Chand of Daghore tehsil Vijaypur district Samba regarding theft of Iron bars (Saria) and other items from his shed at main road Barian, opposite Gurudwara Sahib Barian.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 162/2024 U/S 380 IPC got registered at Police Station (PS) Samba and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police arrested accused namely John Gill, son of Sucha Gill of Supwal district Samba who on sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the instant case. On his disclosure, co accused Dev Raj alias Raju son of Parmanand of Barian Chajwal, tehsil Vijaypur was also arrested as dishonest receiver of stolen property in the instant case.
Police has recovered stolen property including Iron bars (Saria) and Iron Grill on the disclosure of accused Dev Raj alias Raju. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
