Samba police arrests 3 bovine smugglers

SAMBA, Jan 14: Samba police has nabbed three notorious bovine smugglers hailing from Ramban, Jammu & Kathua, who had been evading arrest in cases registered against them in Police Station (PS) Samba and PS Ghagwal.
The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Farman Ali alias Abhi, son of Shah Din of R S Pura district Jammu, Nawaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahmed of Chambalwas Banihal district Ramban and Surmu son of Bashir Ali of Lachhipur tehsil Mehreen district Kathua.
The bovine smugglers namely Farman Ali alias Abhi has been arrested in case FIR No 03/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Samba registered through Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli, Nawaz Ahmed has been arrested in case FIR No. 13/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Samba registered through Police Post (PP), Mansar and bovine smuggler Surmu has been arrested in case FIR No. 112/2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal. Further investigation is underway.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh a total of 118 notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span of time after the launch of special drive, 95 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 83 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 897 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
