SAMBA, Oct 7: Samba Police has arrested four hardcore criminals for attack on police and NCB teams at Sarore Bari Brahmana in which two police officials and two NCB sleuths had sustained severe injuries.
The arrests were made under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh.
The arrested hardcore criminals have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Bashir of Rakh Barothian, Vijaypur district Samba, Farooq Ahmed, son of Saraj Din of Agra Chak tehsil RS Pura district Jammu, Mohammad Rashid alias Shida son of Sadiq Hussain of Chak Manga tehsil and district Samba and Bashir Ahmed, son of Mareed of Debri Dabar tehsil Bishnah district Jammu.
Police said on Thursday evening, on a specific tip off, Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) team assisted by police team of Bari Brahmana raided the house of one hardened heroin smuggler Mushtaq Ali alias Kaka at infamous heroin hotspot Sarore in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Bari Brahmana during which a group of heroin smugglers attacked the police and NCB teams resulting into severe injuries to four officials including PSO of SHO Police Station, Bari Brahmana, PSO of SDPO Bari Brahmana and two NCB sleuths.
A case FIR No.238/2023 U/S 307/353/336/332/147/148/506 IPC 4/25 Arms Act stands registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and investigation is in progress.
The hardcore criminals have been arrested by the police team comprising of SHO Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, PSI Mohammad Aslam, PSI Nirmal Singh and PSI Vineet Rukwal under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that, Police teams are conducting raids at different suspected hideouts and all perpetrators of attacks on Police would be behind the bars in no time.
