Samba police arrests 4 thieves including most wanted burglar

SAMBA, May 24: Samba Police, under the professional guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh, has achieved a major success, arrested four thieves including most wanted burglar “Shadu” who had been involved in several theft cases in Samba, Jammu and Reasi districts.
The arrested thieves have been identified as Irshad Ahmed alias “Shadu” son of ASI Mohammad Saleem of Telli Basti Bari Brahmana, Makhan Din, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Laswara Bishnah district Jammu at present Balole Nallah, Bari Brahmana, Lulu Pradhan son of Bhagwan Pradhan of Odisha at present near Vishavkarma Mandir, Vijaypur and Atul Patyal son of Rishi Ram of Patti tehsil, Vijaypur district Samba.
“Shadu” is son of a police officer posted in district Police in one the districts of Jammu Division, is having two wives and several hideouts. Initially, he indulged in heroin addiction and subsequently turned into a hardcore thief. He had been whole-timely indulging in burglaries as kingpin of gang of thieves involved in several theft cases in Samba, Jammu and Reasi districts and had been caught in CCTV cameras while committing thefts in Supwal, Ramgarh and some other places. “Shadu” and his gang used to steal away Gold and Silver ornaments and cash after conducting recce of the houses. Samba police has conducted series of raids for the last three months to nab most wanted thief “Shadu”, but he was escaping from the clutches of police. Finally, he has been arrested from suspected hideout. His accomplice namely Makhan Din, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Laswara Bishnah district Jammu at present Balole Nallah Bari Brahmana has also been arrested by Police and sustained interrogation of the accused is underway.
The four thieves were arrested by police team comprising of PSI Divya Bharti, SHO Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma, SHO Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria and SH O Samba Rajeshwar Singh under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. Case FIR No. 15/2023 u/s 457/380 IPC registered at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal, case FIR No 16/2023 u/s 454/380 IPC registered at Police Station, Ramgarh and case FIR No.63/2023 u/s 457/380 IPC registered at Police Station, Vijaypur have been worked out and some more arrests are likely.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 80 thieves have been arrested in four months after the launch of intensive drive against thieves in Samba district and 41 theft cases have been solved by Samba police.
