SAMBA, Oct 20: A police party of Police Station Samba, headed by Inspector, Yashpaul Singh, SHO Samba in close coordination with District Special Branch (DSB) Samba and under close supervision of Tanvir Ahmed, Dysp HQRS Samba raided a gambling site at Tirlok Di Chapri Samba and nabbed five gamblers.
They included Vijay Kumar S/o Sarda Nand R/o W.No.9 Samba, Ravi Kumar S/o Bihari Lal R/o W.No 2 Samba, Sanjay Kumar S/o Sham Lal R/o Arazi Samba, Vijay Kumar S/o Hari Singh R/o Tirlok Di Chappri Samba, Dev Raj S/o Krishan Chand R/o Trilok Di Chapri Samba.
The police also recovered stake money of Rs. 16790/- alongwith playing cards from their possession. All of them were booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act.
Meanwhile based on specific information from District Special Branch Samba, a police party of Police Station Samba headed by Inspector Yashpaul Singh, SHO Samba under the direct supervision of Tanvir Ahmed, Dysp HQRS Samba arrested a drug peddler namely Khalid S/o Mohd. Zulfikar R/o Satha Korju Nallah nud and recovered 2.8 Gm Heroine (Chitta) from his possession.
In this regard case FIR No. 234/2017 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started. It may be recalled that District Police Samba has launched a drive against the menace of drugs and gamblers under the directions of Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
