JAMMU, Feb 28: With the arrest of four persons Samba police has solved a blind murder case which took place during intervening night of February 22 and 23 at Bassil Khurd, Bari Brahmana.
Disclosing this at a press conference at Bari Brahmana today Samba police officers said all the four persons namely Kewel Krishan, Shiv Kumar @ Shibbu, Varinder Singh @ Happy & Gagan Deep Singh involved in the murder of Raj Kumar of Bassi Khurd, Bari Brahmana and Sukhjinder Singh @ Shabba during the intervening night of February 22 and 23 have been arrested.
Police said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by SSP Samba headed by S. S. Sambyal, SDPO Vijaypur officiating SDPO Bari Brahmana and other officers namely SI Varuneshwar Singh, Incharge SHO P/S Bari Brahmana, ASI Jamait Ali Wani as its members, under the supervision of Feisel Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba, has worked out the blind murder.
Police said that on February 23, Rahul Kumar S/o Raj Kumar R/o Bassi Khurd, Bari Brahmana lodged a complaint with P/S Bari Brahmana that on the night of 22.02.2015, his father had gone out for domestic work in village Bassi Khurd and did not turn back till morning. As the family left to search him they found his dead body in a pool of blood with slit throat. He further alleged that some un-known persons have killed his father on the basis of an old enmity.
Police said, a case FIR No. 24/2015 u/s 302 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at P/S Bari Brahmana. Soon after registering the case, the SIT of Police immediately visited the spot along with Addl. SP Samba and inspected the scene of crime minutely to gather the clues.
The assistance of Forensic Team was also taken, police said. Thereafter, through the analysis of the call details of the deceased, one Kewel Krishan S/o Charan Dass of Rampura Gandhi Nagar Jammu was lifted and put on sustained questioning. He revealed that the deceased Raj Kumar and Kewel Krishan were friends and were dealing in sale and purchase of land for the last over eight years together. About three years back, Kewel Krishan purchased 84 marlas of land at Chak Chua Bishnah on the name of deceased. Later on some dispute developed between them over this property and for the last one year, the Conspirator Kewel Krishan was not in good terms with the deceased as Kewal Krishan claimed that the deceased cheated him and sold his land without his knowledge at the cost of about Rupees 15/16 lac, police added.
So Kewel Krishan hatched the conspiracy to eliminate him with the help of one Shiv Kumar @ Shibbu S/o Ram Singh R/o Palli Morh. Shiv Kumar further conspired with one Gaggan Deep S/o Subhash Chander R/o Bassi Khurd Bari Brahmana to execute the murder. They hired Varinder Singh @ Happy S/o Paramjeet Singh of Batala Gurdaspur Punjab, at present Kothi Morh Bari Brahmana and Sukhjinder Singh @ Shabba S/o Sandeep Singh R/o Govind Nagar Batala Gurdaspur Punjab, the cousin of Varinder Singh, to execute the murder.
Police said Kewel Krishan struck a final deal of Rs. 2.5 lacs with Shiv Kumar and gave Rs. 60,000/- in advance to him about 15 days back. All the four accused started looking for an opportunity to execute the murder and on the intervening night of 22/23.02.2015, the accused intercepted the deceased on the road near village Bassi Khurd, when he was returning home and slit his throat. The mobile phone of deceased and dagger (weapon of offence) was thrown in the well dug at village Bassi Khurd by the accused after committing the crime.
The accused were put to sustained interrogation by the SIT and on their disclosure, the weapon of offence and the mobile phone of the deceased were recovered from the well at Bassi Khurd Bari Brahmana. The accused further revealed that they have received Rs. 60,000/- in advance and Rs. 01 lakh after the commission of crime from the conspirator who also runs a small Dairy at village Palli Morh. Out of this amount Rs. 90,000/- was still to be paid.
Police said while the four accused persons were earlier arrested by the SIT. However Sukhjinder Singh @ Shabba who was absconding after the commission of crime has also been arrested today from Batala Punjab.
