SAMBA, Oct 9: Continuing its drive against narcotic smugglers/ peddlers, police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba and recovered approximately 7 grams heroin like substance from his possession.
Police team of Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli headed by Incharge PP Rakh Amb Talli under SHO Police Station (PS), Samba during checking at naka Rakh Amb Talli, intercepted a person for checking who was coming from Samba side. During frisking of the person, police recovered 7 grams heroin from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Mureed Baksh of Manohar Gopala tehsil and district Samba. Police has also seized the contraband item on the spot.
A case FIR Number 263/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation has been started.
