SAMBA, Mar 27: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers, Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana and recovered three grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
Acting on an information received through reliable sources, a police party headed by SHO, Bari Brahmana intercepted a car bearing Registration Number JK04J-0975 near Lane Number 17, Bari Brahmana for its checking. During checking, three grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of driver of the vehicle.
The drug peddler has been identified as Ridwan Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmed of Nugwan tehsil Chadoora district Budgam has been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No 48/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
