SAMBA, Mar 25: Samba police has achieved a major success in its fight against narcotics smugglers/peddlers, arrested a Punjab based drug smuggler with Rs 7,46,500 and recovered 20 grams heroin (Chitta) from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
A police party headed by SHO, PS Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and under the overall supervision of SSP, Samba during vehicle checking naka near AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK08P-3662 coming from Rakh Barotian side towards NHW for its checking, police said.
Police said during checking, Rs 7,46,500 along with 20 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of rider.
The drug smuggler identified as Makhan Din, son of Swar Din of Village Lauka tehsil Patti district Tarn Taran (Punjab) has been arrested, police said.
A case FIR No 34/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Vijaypur and investigation started.
