Samba police arrests hardcore drug peddler

Over Rs 95,000, heroin seized

SAMBA, Nov 24: Samba police has arrested hard core drug-peddler possessing 79 money garlands amounting to Rs 95,880 and heroin valuing Rs 45,000 approximately at Sarore in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana today.
The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Mohammad Imran Khan, son of Ashraf Khan of Iqbal Colony, Pattan, Baramulla.
A case FIR No.270/2023 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, Bari Brahmana and investigation is underway.
As many as 79 money garlands amounting to Rs 95,880.00 was in the possession of drug-peddler.
The drug peddler was arrested by a police team comprising of SHO Police Station, Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, PSI Vivek Singh and PSI Divya Bharti under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that a total of 75 drug suppliers/smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in short span, two notorious heroin peddlers have been detained and lodged in jail under PITNDPS Act and several other hardcore heroin smugglers have been booked under law and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
