SAMBA, Nov 14: Police has arrested a notorious bike lifter in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered seven stolen two wheelers from his possession.
Police said on November 4 a written report was lodged at Police Station Bari Brahmana by one Asif Choudhary of Sarore Adda Meen Sarkar, Bari Brahmana regarding theft of his motor cycle bearing registration Number JK21K-2989 from Sarore Adda Bari Brahmana when he went to his sister’s house.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 150/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS was registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Police said during the investigation, the accused namely Murad Ali @ Muradu, son of Tegh Ali of Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana was arrested, who upon sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the instant case. On his disclosure, the stolen bike has been recovered from his possession.
Further on thorough interrogation, two more stolen two wheelers have been recovered from the possession of accused in two different theft cases registered at PS Bari Brahmana which included Scooty bearing Registration Number.JK21E-4655 in Case FIR No. 142/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS and Motorcycle bearing Registration Number JK21H-6346 in Case FIR No. 72/2024 U/S 454/380 IPC, police added.
Police said besides this, four other two wheelers were also recovered and seized under section 106 BNSS which included Motorcycle Passion Number JK02AS-4593, Scooty Number JK02BN-6071, Motorcycle Number. JK21H-7553 and Motorcycle Splendour Chasis Number.MBLHAW098K4B0579.
Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
