Samba police arrests thief, recovers over Rs 3 lakh

SAMBA, Aug 23: Police has arrested one person involved in a theft case and recovered stolen property including cash and safe which was stolen by him during the intervening night of August 9 and 10 from the premises of B K Chandra Shekhar factory, Birpur Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana.
The Samba Police in a handout issued here, today said that a team of Samba police headed by Inspector Arun Jamwal, SHO Bari Brahmana under the  supervision of Israr Khan, SSP Samba and S M Jangral, Dy SP, SDPO Bari Brahmana apprehended Janak Raj, son of Inder Ram of Chua Chak, Bishnah who was involved in theft committed in the premises of B K Chandra Shekhar Factory, Birpur Complex, SICOP Bari Brahmana during the intervening night of August 9 and 10.
A case FIR No 71/2013 under Section 457/380 RPC stands registered against him. On his disclosure police recovered stolen property including Rs 3,15,360 in cash from his possession along with safe which was stolen by him. There were Rs 3,29,000 in the safe, police added.
The police said that some locals of Chua Chak, Bishnah had noticed Janak Raj of breaking the safe in the cremation ground of Chau Chak and they informed the police. Acting on the tip, police apprehended Janak Raj and recovered stolen property from him.
