Samba police arrests thief, recovers stolen mobiles

SAMBA, Jan 30: Samba police has arrested a thief and recovered seven stolen mobiles from him.
Police said on November 5 last year, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS), Samba by the complainant namely Sandeep Kumar, S/o Ashok Kumar of Rakh Amb-Talli, Samba stating therein that on the intervening night of November 4 and 5 last year, an unknown person broke into his shop ‘Meeran Comunication’ situated nearby NHM Samba and decamped with some mobile handsets along with cash.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 297/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a police team of PP Supwal headed by in charge PP Supwal rounded up several suspects for preliminary investigation. One suspect namely Ajay Kumar, S/o Mulkh Raj of Hunder Gali Lank, Tehsil Arnas, district Reasi A/P Narwal, Jammu broke down during sustained interrogation and confessed his involvement in theft case.
Accordingly on his disclosure, seven mobile phones were recovered from his rented room at Narwal, Jammu which were stolen from the shop of Sandeep Kumar. Further investigation is going on.
