Samba police busts gang of inter-state ATM thieves

SAMBA, May 10: Samba Police today busted an Inter -State ATM theft gang that was active in the town for the last couple of months.
According to Police a team of cops was deployed by SHO, PS Samba, Chanchal Singh in civvies in and around all the ATM machines in the Samba town to nab the ATM thieves gang.
Police said one Dinesh Kumar, S/o Dharampal of Sishaya Bollan tehsil Hansi, district Hissar Haryana  used to withdraw cash from accounts of various customers by fraudulently swapping ATM with others while remaining inside ATM and noticing their passwords.
Police said today he also attempted same on one person namely Kaka Ram, S/o Khazan Chand of Panjtilla tehsil and district Samba at a Punjab National Bank ATM machine near Gas Agency Samba town and he was  caught by SHO Police Station Samba and his team red handed . During search of accused, police recovered 18 ATM cards of different banks from his possession kept for swapping.
During his questioning, he disclosed the modus operandi and few more details about his accomplices. In this connection a case FIR No 127/2018 U/S 420 RPC was registered at P S Samba against the accused and investigation started.
The drive was launched under the directives of SSP Samba Anil Magotra and under the supervision of DySP HQs Samba, Deepak Dingra.
