samba, May 5: In its continuous drive against bovine smuggling, a police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Bharat Sharma, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Vijay Pal Singh, DySP (HQ) Samba during Naka checking at (Jatwal) Ghagwal intercepted one Mahindra-207 bearing Registration No. JK08C-8933 in which 6 bovine animals were loaded for illegal transportation without permission from Kathua towards Jammu.
On seeing the police party, the driver fled away leaving the vehicle on spot. Accordingly, the vehicle was seized and Case FIR No. 30/2014 u/s 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act, 184 M.V Act was registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation carried on. Efforts are being made to on to nab the absconding accused driver.
