Samba police nabs drug peddler with 13.32 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Apr 11: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 13.32 grams of heroin (chitta) from his possession.
Police acting on an information received through reliable sources, a police party of PS, Bari Brahmana headed by SHO Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO, Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Virinder Manhas intercepted a pedestrian at JDA Colony near Balole Khad, Bari Brahmana who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, 13.32 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler identified as Owais Ahmad Bhat, son of Gull Mohd Bhat of Devsar district Kulgam has been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No 55/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
