Samba police raid premises of drug peddlers, recover Rs 3 lakh

SAMBA, May 31: Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, Police has achieved a major success and recovered hidden cash amounting to Rs three lakh (Rs 3,00,000.00) and nine (9) mobile phones from a hideout of heroin suppliers at infamous ‘Chitta’ hotspot of Balol Khad in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and booked three notorious heroin suppliers including two women.
Police said holding investigation in case FIR No. 103/2023 U/S 8,21,22,25,29 NDPS Act at PS Bari Brahmana, raids were conducted at the suspected hideouts of the heroin suppliers in the presence of Executive Magistrate, First Class. During the course of searches of suspected hideouts of top suppliers of heroin, police detected a small pit which was dug out by police and Rs. 3,00,000 cash accumulated by heroin suppliers by illegal sale of contraband was recovered from the small pit beneath the hearth, police added.
Police said moreover nine suspected mobiles taken by the heroin suppliers from retail suppliers and addicts in lieu of ‘Chitta’ were also recovered by police during searches.
Searches of the suspected hideouts were conducted by the police team comprising of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, SHO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Sharma and PSI, Mohd Aslam in the presence of Executive Magistrate First Class, Narinder Sharma under the supervision of Additional SP, Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Police has launched vigorous drive against heroin suppliers in Samba district on the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh and in the past four months, as many as 42 top narco-suppliers have been arrested including five notorious women drug suppliers. Moreover, several notorious heroin suppliers have also been booked under relevant sections of NDPS Act and police is conducting raids at suspected hideouts to nab them.
