Samba police raids Chitta sale hideouts, seizes Rs 66000

SAMBA, Apr 10: Police, under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, have launched vigorous raids on suspected hideouts of ‘Chitta’ suppliers at different places.
Police said Illegal money accumulated by sale of ‘Chitta’ (heroin) amounting to Rs sixty-six thousand (66,000.00) has been seized from one of the hideouts in presence of the Magistrate. Moreover, three accused, involved in case of attack on Vijaypur police party while on patrolling duty near ‘Chitta’ hotspot in the jurisdiction of Police Station, Vijaypur, have also been apprehended.
Police said the main accused arrested in case of attack on police has been identified as Mohd Farooq son of Salam Din Gujjar, of Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur and district Samba. Two more accused of Rakh Barotian have also been apprehended in the attack case on police party and their interrogation is going on. Further raids to arrest all the accused involved in attack case on police patrolling party are underway at different places in Samba district and beyond.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh has constituted different teams headed by SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, SHO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Sharma, SHO Vijaypur, Tribhawan Khajuria, SHO Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar, Inspector, Sumit Sharma and IC PP Supwal, Dr. Diveya Bharti under the supervision of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary to vigorously conduct surprise raids and searches at suspected hideouts of ‘Chitta’ suppliers along with Magistrates and sufficient nafri including women police officials.
