SAMBA, July 25: District Police Samba successfully foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing12 bovines in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba today.
A police party of Police Post, Mansar, while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Mansar signalled a truck bearing Registration Number UP22AT-1483 to stop which was moving towards Valley via Mansar-Udhampur road.
On seeing the naka party, the driver accelerated the speed of vehicle and abandoned it at a few meters distance from naka point when chased by police.
During checking of the vehicle, eight bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
A case FIR No. 196/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
In an another similar incident, a police party of PP Supwal during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Supwal, Samba intercepted a Mahindra pick-up vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08D-8790 coming from Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur and was moving towards Valley via Mansar-Udhampur road.
During checking of the vehicle four cattle were found laden inside it without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and also were shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 194/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation taken up.
