SAMBA, Mar 8: District Police Samba has foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal by rescuing 17 bovines at NHW near Sandh-Bari, Ghagwal.
Acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines towards Valley, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal laid a vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal and during checking, stopped a truck bearing registration number, PB10GJ-5003. The driver however managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, 17 cattle were found inside the vehicle. All the cattle were rescued. The vehicle was seized and a case registered under relevant sections of the law.
