SAMBA, Apr 3: In continuation to its ongoing strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers, district police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba once again succeeded in foiling three bovine smuggling attempts under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Vijaypur and Ghagwal by rescuing 37 bovines in three separate incidents.
A police party of P/S Vijaypur headed by Inspector, Rakesh Bamba, SHO, P/S Vijaypur under the supervision S. Baljeet Singh, SDPO, Vijaypur during vehicle checking at NHW Naka Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur signalled a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AG-8345 to stop which was going towards Srinagar. During checking of the vehicle 10 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally. The driver and his associate namely Muneer Ahmed, S/o Abdul Rashid and Bisharat Ali, S/o Murani Chauhan both R/o Khanpur Nagrota, Jammu were arrested on the spot. All the cattle were rescued and the vehicle used for the transportation was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 47/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation started.
Similarly today in wee hours, 11 bovines which were also being smuggled toward Kashmir in a truck bearing Registration Number, JK02AM-2043 were rescued at Naka NHW, Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur and the vehicle involved was also seized. A case FIR No. 48/2019 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation started.
Yet in another similar incident, acting on reliable information received at P/S Ghagwal that the bovines are being smuggled by foot via Bai Nallah Khad, a police party of P/S Ghagwal headed by Inspector, Rajeev Kumar, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the supervision of Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs, Samba apprehended three persons namely Khadin Hussain, S/o Rondu Mohammad, Roshan Din, S/o Nikka Mohammad. Both are the residents of Malani Tehsil Rajpura, district Samba Zakir Hussain, S/o Rashid Mohammed, R/o Purmandal tehsil, Bari Brahmana district Samba at Bai Nallah Ghagwal, who were trying to smuggle bovines without any permission. The accused persons were arrested and all the 16 cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 33/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at P/S Ghagwal.
