SAMBA, Mar 10: District police Samba today successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines, rescued five bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A police party of Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka Tapyal, signalled to stop a Mahindra bearing Registration Number JK08B-4980. But instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed and crossed the naka point. However, alerted cops intercepted the Mahindra vehicle few meters away from the Naka.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 32/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
