SAMBA, Mar 15: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing five animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal today.
Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a Police Party of Police Post (PP) Rajpura intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK08E/9033 near BeinNallahKhad, Rajpura.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside it without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner.
All the cattle were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 38/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
