SAMBA, Nov 7: District police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing five bovine animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police party of PS Ghagwal at Naka point NHW Tapyal, during vehicle checking intercepted a Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Registration Number UP12T/6071 for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside it which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported without any permission.
All the five bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. Moreover the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 160/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
