Samba police rescues 8 bovines

SAMBA, Nov 26: District police Samba successfully foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing eight bovines in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on a reliable information, a police party of PS Ghagwal laid a surprise check point near NHW Nonath and during checking signaled a Mahindra vehicle having Registration Number PBO7BY /3463 coming from Kathua towards Jammu to stop.
During checking of the vehicle, five cattle were found laden inside IT without any permission. However driver managed to escape from the spot while taking advantage of darkness. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 203/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
Similarly in another incident, a Police Party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal arrested a bovine smuggler namely Ghar Singh, S/O Om Parkash OF Haria Chak, tehsil Marheen, district Kathua and rescued three more bovines which were being transported in a Mahindra vehicle with Registration Number JK08C /8992.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No.204/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
