Samba police seizes 5 more vehicles for illegal mining

SAMBA, Nov 17: Continuing vigorous drive against illegal mining launched on the directions of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, Police has seized five more vehicles which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.
Police said its teams comprising of SHO Police Station (PS) Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, SHO Police Station (PS) Purmandal Vijay Verma, in charge Police Post (PP) Rakh Amb Talli, PSI, Davinder Singh and in charge Police Post (PP), Supwal, PSI, Deepika Jalotra under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram, SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary have seized five more vehicles being used for illegal mining at different locations in Samba district.
Police said the seized vehicles included two dumpers bearing Registration Nos JK21G-7597 and JK02CG-7986, one Tractor bearing Registration No JK21J-5547 and two Tractors without registration Numbers.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 214 vehicles have been seized in past ten months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining. Police would not allow illegal mining in Samba district and would take yet more stringent action against mining mafia in the district, if illegal mining not stopped, he added.
