Samba police seizes 60 bags of Govt supply wheat

SAMBA, Apr 29: Samba police seized 60 bags of Wheat and arrested the driver of the vehicle in which the Government ration was being carried for sale under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Ramgarh.
On getting reliable information regarding black-marketing of Government ration supply, a police party of Police Station, Ramgarh led by SHO Chaman Gorkha immediately swung into action and intercepted one Tata Mobile Vehicle bearing Registration No. JK21F-2119 near Wheat Mill at Kalan Swankha.
During checking of the vehicle, 60 bags of Wheat of Government Depot each weighing 50 kgs were recovered from the vehicle which was being transported for black marketing. The owner of the Mill namely Romesh Chander @ Kala, R/o Kalan Swankha run away from the spot on seeing the police party whereas the driver namely Mohammad Younis S/o Mohammad Sharief, R/o Jhang was arrested on the spot and all the Wheat bags were seized.
During preliminary investigation, it has been surfaced that accused driver Mohd. Younis has loaded the ration bags from Government Ration Depot, Ramgarh on the challan prepared in the name of dealer namely Darshan Lal, R/O Chawni Abtal. Arrest of the dealer involved as well as the owner of the Wheat Mill is awaited in the case.
In this regard, a case FIR No 49/2020 U/S 406/409 IPC, 3/7 Essential Commodities Act, stands registered at P/S Ramgarh and investigation started.
