Samba police slaps PSA on hardcore criminal

SAMBA, Sept 28: Samba police has arrested a hardcore criminal and smuggler Mohammad Yousaf, son of Lal Hussain of Manohar Gopala, Samba and slapped PSA on him as he was involved in number of criminal activities and was a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of district Samba.
Police said to affect his arrest a special team of Police Station (PS) Samba under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs,. Samba, . Mohammad Usman headed by SHO PS Samba, Inspector, Deepak Jasrotia under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Dr. Abhishek Mahajan was constituted to arrest him.
Police said the accused is a habitual criminal and his criminal activities are posing a great threat to the public peace and tranquility. The accused is involved in a number of heinous cases registered against him at Police Station Samba and other Police Stations of district Kathua.
Police said seven FIRs against him have been registered in district Samba in the year 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 respectively. Besides, one FIR was registered against him in Police Station, Rajbagh in 2018 and one in PS Hiranagar in 2022 of district Kathua.
Police said a dossier was prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba and forwarded to District Magistrate Samba who formally issued the order of his detention under the PSA. The detention warrant was executed by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Samba today and the accused has been lodged in District Jail, Kathua .
