SAMBA, Mar 25: Samba Police has detained a hardcore criminal, namely Anwar Choudhary, S/o Sardar Mohammed of Bagoon, Nud in district Samba under Public Safety Act (PSA) as he was involved in number of criminal activities and was a great threat to the life and liberty of the people of the State.
The arrest was made by a special team of P/S Samba constituted on the directives of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP, Samba and under the supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba. The team was headed by Inspector, Shiv Dev Singh, SHO, P/S Samba which arrested the criminal.
The motive of the criminal was not only to create terror among the peaceful and law abiding citizens of the town but also to form biggest criminal gang by encouraging criminal minded persons to join it. His criminal activities were posing grave threat to the peace and tranquility in the area. He is a habitual criminal and his involvement in a number of heinous crimes has been established for which a number of FIRs have been registered in different Police Stations of district Samba, Jammu and Udhampur, police said.
The cases were registered under FIR No. 201/2015 U/S 354/323/147 RPC of PS Samba, FIR No. 256/2015 U/S 395/420 RPC of PS Nagrota & FIR No. 100/2017 U/S 323/336/427/147/148 RPC of PS Nagrota of Jammu district and FIR No. 75/2017 U/S 458/354 RPC of PS Chenani in Udhampur district.
Accordingly, in order to prevent him from spreading, expanding and continuing his criminal activities and to prevent him from disturbing public order, district Police Samba compiled all the police record of the criminal, prepared his dossier and got issued his warrant under Public Safety Act (PSA) issued from Deputy Commissioner, Samba to prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities and lodged him in Sub-Jail, Hiranagar today after execution of warrant under PSA issued against him. With the arrest of this hardcore criminal the people of the area had a sigh of relief, police said.
