Samba police solves jewellery theft case, arrests thief

SAMBA, Dec 12 : Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh, police has solved jewellery theft case of Vijaypur by arresting a hardcore thief and recovering gold and silver ornaments worth rupees four lakh approximately and 22,580 thousand cash from his possession.
The arrested thief has been identified as Davinder Singh, son of Ashok of Rakh Amb Talli, district Samba.
A case FIR No. 177/2023 U/S 454, 380 IPC stand registered at Police Station (PS) Vijaypur on the complaint of one Ravi Kant, son of Madan Gopal of Ferozabad (UP) at present Vijaypur and investigation is underway.
The arrested person happens to be a hardcore thief involved in several theft cases including: case FIR No. 241/2021 U/S 454/380 IPC of PS Samba, FIR No. 281/2023 U/S 454/380 IPC of PS Samba and FIR No. 15/2022 U/S 454, 380, 411, 201 IPC of PS Bari Brahmana.
The thief was arrested by police team comprising of SHO PS Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak and PSI, Ankush Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that a total of 151 thieves have been arrested and 76 theft cases have been solved by Samba Police in past eleven months and stolen property worth lacs of rupees including gold/silver ornaments and cash has been recovered.
