Samba police solves theft case, arrests 5 thieves

SAMBA, Jan 8: District Police Samba has solved a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba, arrested five accused and recovered stolen items worth Rs two lakh from their possession.
Police said on January 2, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS) Samba by one Rakesh Kumar, son of Bishan Dass of Deon tehsil Bari Brahmana, serving in District Court Samba, regarding theft of items including water taps and electrical wires from judicial quarters, District Court Complex Samba.
Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 02/2025 U/S 331(4)/ 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a Police team headed by SHO PS Samba under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Samba and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Varinder Manhas after relentless efforts succeeded in arresting the five accused persons who upon sustained questioning confessed their involvement in the instant case. The arrested persons have been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Hari Kumar of Muradabad (UP) at present Shiv Nagar Vijaypur, Ganesh Kumar, son of Janak Raj of Vijaypur, Mohd Maqbool, son of Mohd Ibrahim Das of Bandipura at present Vijaypur, Karan Lal son of Mohan Lal of Shiv Nagar Vijaypur and Vishavjeet Dass, son of Gurdass of Gali Hukam Gate Amritsar at present Shiv Nagar Vijaypur.
Further on the disclosure of the accused, stolen items were recovered from their possession. Investigation of the case is still going on.
