Samba police works out 3 theft cases

SAMBA, Sept 14: Samba police has worked out serial theft cases of Supwal and apprehended three notorious thieves.
The apprehended thieves have been identified as Akash Masih, son of Gulzar Masih of Gurdaspur, Punjab, at present Kalibari Kathua, Jagdeep Kumar alias Baluna, son of MadanLal of Daghore, tehsil, Vijaypur, district Samba and one more thief.
Three cases FIR No. 220/2023 U/S 457, 380 IPC, P/S Samba, FIR No.221/2023 U/S 457, 380, 427 IPC, P/S Samba & FIR No. 127/2023 U/S 457, 380, 511 IPC, P/S Vijaypur registered at Police Station (PS) Samba through Police Post (PP) Supwal and PS Vijaypur have been worked out, three thieves have been apprehended so far and some of the stolen items have been recovered. All other accused involved in the serial thefts committed at the separate houses of two BSF jawans posted outside the UT and one shop have been identified and booked and raids are being conducted to arrest them.
Out of the three notorious thieves, two have been apprehended by PP Supwal whereas one notorious thief namely Jagdeep Kumar has been arrested by PS Vijaypur. Jagdeep is involved in at least four FIRs registered against him at Police Station Samba and Vijaypur.
The three notorious thieves have been apprehended by police teams comprising of SHO Police Station (PS) Samba, Daljit Singh, SHO PS Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak and in charge PP, Supwal, ASI, Balbir Kumar under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
The arrests were made under the supervision of SSP Samba Benam Tosh.
He said that 130 thieves have been arrested and 68 theft cases worked out by Samba police in eight months and huge stolen property including cash, gold and silver ornaments have been recovered. Police is conducting indepth investigations with utmost sincerity in all theft cases and fastly heading towards solving all under investigation theft cases in the district.
