Samba police works out theft case

SAMBA, June 26: Samba police has worked out a theft case which was registered at Police Station (PS) Ghagwal, arrested thief and recovered stolen items worth rupees one lakh approximately from his possession.
A written complaint was lodged at Police Post Rajpura (PS Ghagwal) by one Mukesh Kumar, son of Krishan Lal of Rajpura district Samba, regarding theft of electric water pumps from his agriculture field at village Malani by some unknown person.
Acting on the complaint, a case FIR No. 94/2024 U/S 379 IPC got registered at Police Station, Ghagwal and investigation was started.
Different teams were constituted led by SHO PS Ghagwal and IC PP Rajpura. During the course of investigation, police zeroed several suspects. Meanwhile, a person namely Des Raj, son of Titru Ram of Dalsar tehsil Ramnagar district Udhampur at present Sherpur, tehsil Hiranagar district Kathua was apprehended in the instant case after hectic efforts and was put to sustained questioning. On his disclosure, police has recovered eight electric water pumps costing INR one lakh (approximately) which the accused had stolen from different places in Ghagwal area.
Further Investigation of the case is going on.
