JAMMU, Feb 28:  Voicing its reservations, Shri Vaishnav Bairagi Sadhu Dharam-Sthan Surakshani Samiti, J&K, has appealed the Government not to introduce the proposed  Kashmiri Hindu and Religious Places Management Bill in the Assembly.
In a statement, president of the Samiti, Mahant Rameshwar Dass strongly opposed the move to bring all temples in Kashmir Valley under the ambit of the controversial Bill.  “Government has no right to bring under the Bill those temples and shrines in Valley, where all religious affairs were being run smoothly even during the peak of militancy,” he explained.
Elaborating further, Mahant said that the Samiti had no objection if any organization asks Government to form a board for the shrine under its management and control but there should be no forced control of the Government.
There is no problem with the temples and shrines under Sadhu Samaj Trust and Dharamarth Trust where all religious rituals are being performed without any hindrance,” he said.
Reiterating that the Sadhu Samaj would not allow Government  to capture their shrines and temples, the Mahant appealed all the political parties to oppose the proposed Bill for justice to Hindus.
